Niagara Falls is split between the United States and Canada. The American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls sit on the US side, while Horseshoe Falls curves along the Canadian side. Everything is close, so once you arrive you move between viewpoints in minutes.
American side (United States)
This is where most day tours from New York stop.
- American Falls viewpoints sit along the rim of Niagara State Park.
- Maid of the Mist departs from the lower landing next to the Observation Tower.
- Short park paths link all viewpoints, so it is easy to walk from one to the next.
Canadian side (Ontario)
Across the Rainbow Bridge, the Canadian side has the wide, panoramic views.
- Horseshoe Falls viewpoint runs along the edge of Queen Victoria Park.
- Journey Behind the Falls is located at Table Rock Centre, right next to the waterfall.
- The promenade is flat and gives you the famous postcard angles.
Distance between sides
Crossing the Rainbow Bridge takes about 10 to 15 minutes on foot. You need your passport, but the transition is simple. Most visitors who stay one night see both sides in half a day.
